Ron Jackson & Flubby Dubby


Led by extraordinarily versatile New York-based jazz guitarist Ron Jackson, the groove-heavy R&B organ trio project, Flubby Dubby adds new energy to the iconic and accessible traditions of soul jazz. Joined by Hammond master Greg “Organ Monk” Lewis and drummer Jeremy “Bean” Clemons, Jackson chose the name Flubby Dubby (also the title of the group’s 2012 debut recording) as a tribute to such soul jazz leaders as Soulive and Maceo Parker. Having spent time in groups U.S. Virgin Islands native Ron Blake, Jackson also adds a welcome splash of Caribbean rhythms and soul to Flubby Dubby’s fast and funky brand of soul jazz.

The leader of the Ron Jackson Trio, versatile and sophisticated jazz guitarist Ron Jackson is an accomplished composer, solo and duo artist and jazz educator who has performed, recorded and taught music in over 30 countries. With a varied career as a performer, composer and arranger, Highlights include shows and tours with artists such as Taj Mahal, Jimmy McGriff, Larry Coryell, Benny Golson, Oliver Lake, Russell Malone and Mulgrew Miller. Ron has been featured as a leader in jazz festivals all over the world, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz Festivals and Winter Jazzfest, NYC.
